Millika Chopra authored a recent article in Time Magazine’s Special Issue, Mindfulness, entitled YES, YOU CAN LIVE WITH INTENT. She is the daughter of one of my favorite authors, Deepak Chopra M.D. “Ageless Body, Timeless Mind,” being my most favorite among his many books.

I cant imagine having a Father like Dr. Chopra so I was very excited to read that he taught his daughter, at a young age, to start her day with a self-assigned intention in mind. An Intent, as opposed to wondering-around aimlessly.  It makes sense that a medical doctor who has expanded into Quantum Physics to explain an alternative to Growing Old, would teach his own child to use much more of their mind for the superb tool it is. Imagination is the father of invention someone said. I say, Imagination is the door through which we walk, like Alice’s Looking Glass, to make our dreams become reality.

But it doesn’t work just to dream aimlessly. One must focus Imagination through the crystal prism of Intention.  Harry Chapin explained what happens to a life when its not focused with a self-assigned intention.

Oh, I’ve got something inside me
Not what my life’s about
‘Cause I’ve been letting my outside tide me
Over ’till my time, runs out

Chorus from Taxi by Harry Chapin

It takes courage, it takes gumption, it takes true grit to live each day with Intent.

What do you have to lose? I will tell you what you will lose by starting right away. You will lose the REGRET of not having taken control of your time before it ran out. By starting soon, by Intentionally Imagining something private (or not) that you can mark as YOURS you will be able to say you lived while the living is good, without regret.
